When we were looking at opening sequences in class, to give us ideas, I really liked the style of the Fight Club opening - so I plan on using chopping editing as well as a voice over monologue in my opening piece. I've been told sound on film isn't good due to the equipment quality, though I'm sure the College has the equipment of microphones with high quality pick up.
My idea, so far, involves the basic Assassin theme however due to the amount of Vampire films out this year (Twilight, Vampires Suck etc.) I plan on adding Vampire Assassins into the mix however to give it the Thriller feel, I will make them darker in this opening.
It starts off with two stories almost - one with a girl in a College bathroom and the other of a long cloaked figure (a Vampire Assassin) - with a series of zoom ins, jump cuts and (hopefully) the ability to speed up film - the Assassin ends up outside the College Bathroom door and shoots the girl. A monologue would have eben going on in this process however will be silenced when the none-diagetic sound of a gun shot is added - then voice over will then go "That's me" as the camera is still on the dead body, the voice over will then correct the audience by stating, "No, that's me" as the focus is then directed onto the Assassin, smiling and showing her fangs.
That's my idea so far - it may change, but I plan on sticking to it.
