Research: Genre

I have researched and discovered that, although I am creating a Thriller/Horror genred film, there is in fact a type of sub-genre specifically made for Vampire films. Over the years Vampire films and television programs have become more popular over the years, giving a variety in style for Interview with a Vampire to Underworld - they all fall under the same genre and, even though my film is a Thriller is falls under the sub-genre of Vampire Films.

I have looked at the synopsis of my film and compared it with other films, not just all vampire films, to try and find the style that mine has i.e. Interview was a Vampire is a romantic action drama while Underworld is far more gory and horror. I have found that my style of film would fall under detective/spy genre if it wasn't for the Vampire sub-genre. I have tried looking for any films that I can compare it to, films that use the Vampires as detectives/assassins/spies etc. And I have found nothing so I am coming to the conclusion that this is one of the first Vampire Sub-Genred films with a Detective style to it.
