Voice Over Monologue Script

As I have stated in previous posts, I plan on using a voice over monologue during my opening scene. I have thought about it and think it'll be a good idea to have two different actors playing the Vampire during the opening scene; the actor we see on screen and the vocal actor who we'll hear in the monologue.

Shot 1 through 2
Vampire: When people hear about us, they always freak out… Or hide. Some of them scream, but we’re used to it. We’re freaks of nature, something different… Technically, we’re just a genetic mistake. But I suppose we need to use what we have, what we are, to our advantage (here – camera zooms to red ribbon around tree)
Shot 3
Vampire: It looks like I’m needed again
Shot 4 – No monologue/ Diegetic Sound?
Shot 5 – Monologue starts when fourth word is typed –
Vampire: I hope that this hit will be easier than the last
Shot 6
Vampire:  I know you might be wondering why I stick with this job. To be honest, it’s one of the things I’m good at (chuckles to self) Thinking about it, that’s pretty pathetic…
Shot 7 & 8 & 9
Vampire: But some people make good bad guys don’t they? I mean look at all the serial killers that haven’t been caught yet; they must be pretty smart to get away with it. I guess to them killing someone is nothing personal, it’s just they’re job.
Shot 10 – Soundtrack – Shot 23. On Shot 23 soundtrack cut out with doorbell sound, sharp as possible.
Diegetic sound for shot 24
Diegetic sound for shot 25
When Vampire steps into shot, monologue starts up again/ shot 26
Vampire: I’m just glad we use guns; it’s a lot more humane
Allow shot 27 transition – up to low angle side shot before gun trigger
Vampire: I wish I could tell her I’m sorry (gun trigger BANG)
Shot 27 cut to black after BANG then cut back to shot 28
Shot 28
Vampire: But saying sorry is something personal. Something weak. Something human.
Shot 29
Vampire: And I guess that’s not me.
